Aareplast AG is specialised in heat resistant plastics featuring the highest level of surface leakage resistance (insulation properties). Furthermore, they are chemical resistant and hardly flammable (flame-resistant). These materials made of thermosetting plastics are mainly used for manufacturing switch disconnectors, vacuum interrupters and circuit-breakers.

A major proportion of thermoplast switches are intended for outdoor applications, e.g. for catenary systems or pantographs on towing vehicles.
