The injection compression moulding is a combination of injection moulding and compression moulding. It combines the advantages of both techniques. The injection moulding process allows a high degree of automation and efficiency. At the same time, mechanical values of the moulded part are improved. Due to the uniform compaction, durability is increased while shrinkage and deformation are reduced. Flow lines can be avoided or controlled better, and the ventilation is ideal.
The mold is not completely closed when the injection starts. The mold closes during the injection process where it also compresses the parts.
